Kernun documentation
Documentation consists of several parts. Complete documentation is installed on every Kernun system and it is also contained in directory doc on the installation CD. Several formats are used:
Kernun Handbook
Handbook covers installation instructions, the tutorial and the reference part of the documentation. This document is suitable for reading as a book, basically from beginning to the end. It is addressed to Kernun newbies as well as to advanced users.
- PDF - suitable for printing and reading from the screen
- HTML – on-line reference book
- HTML – a single very long HTML file
Manual pages
The reference part of the documentation is available also as standard manual
pages. They can be viewed by command man(1). The manual pages are categorized into
sections, similarly as the system manual pages.
Text files
Only several short documents, which should be read before installation or upgrade, are available as plain text files. They are:
- KERNUN-CHANGES.txt - List of changes between individual versions of Kernun
- KERNUN-INSTALL.txt - Short installation instructions. This file basically refers to the Chapter 1 in the Kernun Handbook.
- KERNUN-LICENSE.txt License agreement.
- KERNUN-RELNOTES.txt - Release notes, various notices about Kernun Firewall installa-
tion, configuration, and use.
